What is the Parade of Homes?

Once a year, typically in the Spring, the Home Builder’s Association of Craven and Pamlico Counties hosts the parade for local home builders and remodelers to showcase their homes and craft. At no cost, you can visit all the homes entered and open to the public in the Craven and Pamlico County area to gain design ideas or speak with a New Home Specialist to find out more about building your future home. This year we have entered one of our most popular two story floorplans, the Clayton, built in the neighborhood of River Bluffs.

Why is the Parade of Homes in the Fall this year?

As you may know, our area took a hard hit from Hurricane Florence in September of 2018. We sustained hurricane force winds along the coast, but the major devastation came with a historic storm surge and rainfall that caused catastrophic flooding in our area. On the heels of this distressing time, when the Spring of 2019 rolled around, the Home Builder’s Association ultimately decided to postpone the event in an effort to continue focus on rebuilding our area.

What home are open to the public?

While there are 8 total entries in the parade this year, only 6 are open to the public. Those open on October 26 & 27 from 12pm to 5pm include:

  • #1 – 1050 West Burton Farm Road
  • #2 – 4500 Wentworth Court
  • #3 – 409 River Bluffs Drive
  • #5 – 2812 Waterleaf Pointe
  • #6 – 706 West Wilson Creek Drive
  • #8 – 101 Teufen Road

Entries #4 & #7 are not open to the public during the parade.

You can pick up a copy of the Parade Magazine at the Home Builder’s Association office in New Bern, or view online here.

Our Featured Model:

This year we have entered our Clayton model built in the River Bluffs neighborhood in New Bern. We are entry #3!

The Clayton is a two-story home with five bedrooms and three baths. This home features a large open great room, formal dining room, guest suite and study downstairs. The kitchen with bar top seating at the island is open to the great room for a perfect entertaining space. The upstairs Owner’s Suite with double door entrance, includes a private bath, sitting area, and large walk-in closet. Three secondary bedrooms are also located upstairs along with the spacious loft and laundry room. Options for this home may include a fireplace in the family room, “drop zone” near the garage entrance, garage service door, tray ceilings, and even a luxury owner’s bathroom. Additional luxury choices offer a side load garage, rear covered or screened porch, and french doors for the study.

The home we have entered will serve as a show home for our New Home Specialist who takes care of our On Your Lot building opportunities. That’s right, not only does JC Jackson Homes build in developments, but we also handle building your home on a property that you own. Be sure to stop by on October 26 & 27 to visit our team and discuss your new home!
